Estimated Recoverable vs. Actual Recovered Revenue
Understand why estimated and actual figures differ, and why estimates are not guarantees.
Learning Objectives
- Understand the difference between estimates and actuals
- Know why estimates may not match recovered revenue
- Set realistic expectations for recovery outcomes
Prerequisites
What estimates represent
Estimated recovery figures (Potential, Estimated, Verified) are projections based on detected patterns. They represent the size of the opportunity — how much revenue might be recoverable if actions succeed. They are not promises.

What actual recovered means
Actual Recovered is the all-time total of confirmed recovered revenue from completed recovery attempts. This is real money that was recovered through successful actions. It is the only figure that represents confirmed outcomes.
Why they differ
Not every detected opportunity can be recovered. Some attempts fail, some recover only a portion, and some opportunities are dismissed. The gap between estimates and actuals is normal and expected. Estimates help you understand opportunity size; actuals tell you what was really recovered.
Important Notes
- Recoupant never guarantees that estimated revenue will be recovered.
- All recovery figures on the platform are estimates unless explicitly labeled as 'Actual Recovered'.
